New Exhibition at the Link Art Gallery
“Perception” Works by David Egan
February 23, 2024
The Link Art Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of our next exhibit, “Perception” Works by David Egan. The exhibit is February 23 rd. – March 15th, with an opening reception on Friday, February 23rd beginning at 5:00 p.m. CT. The artist will be present at the opening to give a brief talk about his work and to answer any questions.
David, born and raised in Paris, Illinois, can remember fondly of his first introduction to art. “I received a box of green clay for my 5th birthday. My brother Jerry had gone off to 1st grade so I no longer had anyone to play with. I started forming shapes and eventually made farm animals, Cowboys and Indians, teepees and forts. I did this almost every day until I started 1st grade.
It wasn’t until 8th grade, my friend Gregg Henigman brought a color book with colored pencils to school. We would sit on the heaters by the big windows and do art work or play chess when it was too cold to go outside in the winter.”
And now, “I finally decided to see if I could replicate some of the scenes that I could see when I closed my eyes. Some of these art works are just that. I like to put colors together and draw lines.” David Egan.
